If you have looked at the One Stop Shop information and you feel that approach doesn’t suit your budget or your home, but you still want to get started with some home energy upgrades, then the individual home upgrade measures are the way to go.
What are individual measures?
Individual measures are single energy upgrades, such as ‘Attic Insulation’ or ‘External Wall Insulation’ done as a single measure to upgrade your home.
There are a number of SEAI grants available for individual home energy upgrade measures and you can choose to apply for these grants one measure at a time.
This approach suits a lot of homeowners who are not in a position to afford multiple measures all at once, don’t need to do a lot of upgrades, or perhaps the building doesn’t qualify for the One Stop Shop grant. Either way, whatever route you prefer to take, there are suitable SEAI grants available to you.
Grants offered are provided by the Government of Ireland through the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI).
How Do I get SEAI grants for things like Attic Insulation?
When it comes to the individual grant options, you have to apply for these grants yourself, unlike the One Stop Shop, where we apply for the grant on your behalf. (as per SEAI requirements).
You will also need to pay for the work in full before you get your grant amount. This is not the case with the One Stop Shop where the grant is deducted from the cost of the works upfront. You will also have to apply for the grant before any work starts.
